We don't collect
your data. Ever.
Shorts Remover is a local browser tool. It doesn't have servers, doesn't phone home, and doesn't know who you are. This page explains the one and only thing it stores — and why.
One setting. Nothing else.
Shorts Remover stores exactly one piece of data: whether you have the extension turned on or off. That's it.
Chrome stores it, not us.
The on/off preference is saved using chrome.storage.sync — a Chrome API that stores data in your own Google account's extension sync space. This data never touches our servers because we don't have any. Google's own privacy policy governs how Chrome sync storage is handled.
If you are not signed into Chrome, the value is stored locally in your browser only and is never transmitted anywhere.
No tracking. No sharing. No servers.
To be explicit:
- We do not collect browsing history, watch history, or any YouTube activity
- We do not collect personal information such as name, email, or IP address
- We do not use analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting tools
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties
- We do not load any remote scripts or communicate with external servers
- We do not track whether or how often the extension is used
Why Chrome shows these permissions.
When you install Shorts Remover, Chrome requests the following permissions:
Delete your data any time.
To remove the only piece of data the extension stores, simply uninstall Shorts Remover from Chrome. Chrome will automatically clear all associated storage data. You can also clear it manually via chrome://extensions → Shorts Remover → Details → Clear Data.
